How we price it, written down before you ever call.

"Call for a quote" is where the fake locksmiths make their money: a low number on the phone, a big one at the door. We give you the price before we set off, the same rule at night as in the day, and any after-hours charge is said out loud on the call.

The rule: we confirm the price at the door, you say yes, and only then do we start. If the job grows, we stop and ask you again.

Salt air, freeze-thaw and nor'easters: what they do to locks.

A lock that won't turn

Salt spray and rain get in, then freeze overnight. Use lock de-icer or warm the key in your hand, and turn gently. Hot water just refreezes deeper. Still stiff? Text us a photo.

Garage door stuck to the floor

After wet snow or an ice storm, the bottom seal can freeze to the slab. Don't let the opener strain at it: free the seal first, or the next thing to go is a spring or a cable.

Fob quits in the damp

Cold and damp drain fob batteries fast. Most fobs hide a metal key inside. If yours doesn't, we cut and program one where the car is parked.
